Four Blur Types, Drag to Apply

Pick a blur type, then drag rectangles anywhere on the photo. Stack as many regions as you need.

Gaussian Smooth

The natural, camera-style blur. Smoothly melts details inside the region — the standard choice for hiding faces.

Pixelate

Retro block-style censoring. Hard-edged pixels make it obvious the area was edited — ideal for screenshots and documents.

Mosaic Blocks

Bigger, sharper blocks than pixelate — the classic TV censor look. Nothing inside the region remains readable.

Frost Glass

Blur with a milky white wash, like frosted bathroom glass. Stylish for design mockups and soft privacy blurs.

Why Use This Blur Tool?

Blur or pixelate only the areas that need hiding — faces, plates, addresses — right in your browser.

Drag-and-Done Regions

Draw a rectangle over anything sensitive and it is blurred instantly. Drag again for more regions — no layers, no masks, no learning curve.

Four Blur Types

Gaussian for natural hiding, pixelate and mosaic for censor-style edits, frost for a stylish glass effect — switch types any time.

Adjustable Strength

One slider controls how strong every region is, from a light soften to complete unreadability, with live re-rendering.

Selective Editing, Full Quality

Only the regions you mark are changed — the rest of the photo keeps its original pixels. Enlarge later with our AI image upscaler.

Private by Design

Blurring runs on your device through HTML5 canvas — essential when the photo contains faces or documents. Nothing is ever uploaded.

Free, No Signup

Blur unlimited photos with unlimited regions. Download as lossless PNG or compact JPG, no watermarks.

What People Blur

Selective blurring keeps photos shareable while protecting what matters

Faces in Street Photos

Blur bystanders before posting street photography or real-estate shots. For full-frame retro censoring, see the pixelate tool.

Documents and Screenshots

Hide names, emails, account numbers, and addresses in screenshots before sharing them with support or on forums.

License Plates and Homes

Protect plates, house numbers, and license plates in car and property photos — the rest of the image stays crisp.

Product Mockups

Frost Glass blurs background content in app mockups and presentations, keeping the focus on your design.

Blur Face / Blur Area — FAQ

Quick answers about selective blurring

How do I blur only part of a photo?
Load your photo, then drag a rectangle over the area you want hidden. The region is blurred instantly while the rest of the photo stays untouched. Drag as many regions as you need.
Which blur type should I use to hide a face?
Gaussian Smooth at 24px or higher makes faces unrecognizable while looking natural. For a censor-style edit that is obviously redacted, choose Pixelate or Mosaic Blocks.
Can I remove or redo a region?
Yes. Click Clear Regions to remove all of them and start over. To fix just one region, clear and redraw — regions apply in order and take only a second each.
Is blurring enough to protect private information?
Strong Gaussian or Mosaic settings render the underlying content unrecoverable through the tool’s output. For highly sensitive documents, use the strongest settings and verify the region is unreadable before sharing.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
Never — which matters most for this tool. Blurring runs entirely on your device through HTML5 canvas, so sensitive photos never leave your computer.
Can I change the blur strength after drawing regions?
Yes. The strength slider and blur type re-render all existing regions immediately, so you can fine-tune until every area is properly hidden.
